The CARE CENTRE UNIT accommodates people in different stages of frailty.

In the self-supporting section, the Elderly, who to a great extent are still independent in their daily activities such as washing, dressing, mobility and eating are accommodated in comfortable, sunny single rooms. Single and double bed rooms are available.

The semi-frail care section accommodates  people who are already in need of help in washing, dressing, eating and moving around.

These two sections are under the supervision of a qualified nurse, including assistant nurses. Infirm elderly, many of whom are bed bound or confined to their bedrooms, receive extensive care in the care centre.

In 2007 an Alzheimer Unit was established on account of an enormous need for this kind of care.  Gradually this unit has been extended so that at present there are facilities for 22 Alzheimer patients.

The residents of “Sonland” (so called because so much love and joy are shared and received) are stimulated on a daily basis with games, like the building of cubes and puzzles, soft toys and familiar activities, such as knitting and crocheting.

Both above mentioned sections are alternately managed by two registered nurses who relieve one another, so that at least one qualified nurse is on duty every day.  They are supported by qualified and efficient staff nurses, assistant nurses and nursing aides. 24 Hour medical care and supervision is provided in the care centre.
